Cuba Hosts Art Exhibition Dedicated to Women
Monday, March 12, 2018

Havana.- The gallery of the National Council of Plastic Arts is hosts an exhibition dedicated to women and nature by the outstanding plastic artist Flora Fong.

The exhibition, called The Ming Caribbean: Image, Calligraphy and Verse, consists of 12 works made in acrylic on canvas in several formats.

The artworks are accompanied by verses by Chinese poets from the 15th and 16th centuries, and recreate the calligraphy of that Asian nation, intermingled with elements of Caribbean landscapes.

In this regard, the artist pointed out that she selected the Ming Dynasty because that period treasures several centuries of painting and verses.

In addition to painting and drawing, Flora Fong has ventured into ceramics, stained glass, fabric design in the Telarte project and the making of kites using oriental techniques.
