New York.- The consortium Marriott International consolidated its position in the world market at the end of 2017, with a total of 6,400 hotels in 126 countries.
According to statistics from the group, the company's has 1.2 million rooms, in addition to reporting a net income of 1.565 billion dollars last year.
Marriott reported a turnover of 22.891 billion dollars, accounting for a growth of 1.8 percent compared to the previous year.
The group's expansion plans include some 2,700 establishments in projects, which will provide 460,000 rooms, 80 percent of which will be available for the luxury segment.
The chain operates nearly two dozen brands, including Autograph Collection, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Renaissance Hotels and Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott and Fairfield Inn by Marriott.
