Trova Festival in Santiago de Cuba

Havana.- The city of Santiago de Cuba, in the eastern province of the same name, will host the 56th edition of the Pepe Sánchez Trova Festival.

According to organizers, recognized interpreters and groups of that kind of music are expected to participate, including Pancho Amat and his Cabildo del Son.

The list of performers also includes Jóvenes Clásicos del Son, Augusto Blanca, Tony Avila, Pepe Ordás, William Vivanco and Annie Garcés, among others.

The program will consist of theoretical sessions related to songs like "Longina", composed by Manuel Corona; "Ella y Yo", by Oscar Hernández; "Mujer Perjura", by Miguel Companioni, and "Mujer Bayamesa", by Sindo Garay.

Book presentations, activities on Heredia Street and photo exhibitions are also part of the Festival's program, as well as a workshop on the tres guitar taught by Pancho Amat.
