Cuba to Support Sports Activities in South America
Monday, February 12, 2018

Havana.- Cuba will support sports activities in South America by carrying out anti-doping controls for first-line events.

This way, Cuba's anti-doping laboratory will analyze the samples taken during the 11th Cochabamba-2018 South American Games, which will take place in that Bolivian department.

The organizers of the meeting made the decision to send urine and blood samples from some athletes, who will compete in about 35 sports, to be tested in Havana.

At present, the contract is being negotiated with the Cuban laboratory, which was acknowledged and certified by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

In December 2017, the Cuban lab tested samples from the Central American Games held in Managua, Nicaragua, in addition to testing samples taken during the soccer leagues in Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru.
