Works on Port Terminal in Eastern Cuba Underway
Monday, February 5, 2018

Havana.- The works at the port terminal of Santiago de Cuba, in the eastern part of the country, show an adequate level of execution under the guidance of China Communication and Construction Company.

The works received investments of nearly 120 million dollars, from a loan granted by the Chinese government.

The new multifunctional dock will have a reinforced concrete berth of about 250 meters to load and unload ships using five advanced technical gantry cranes, three with a 50-ton capacity and two others of 30 tons.

In that regard, the port is expected to handle 565,000 tons per year, including general cargo, containers and bulk products.

In addition, two roofed warehouses with the capacity to assimilate about 5,000 tons of general cargo and about 10,000 tons of dry cargo will be built.
