Havana.- The Granma team, champion of the national baseball tournament in Cuba, is participating as a guest in the new edition of the Caribbean Series in Mexico.
The Cuban team will play their first game against Venezuela's Caribes de Anzoátegui, who won the Venezuelan league after beating the Cardinals of Lara.
Meanwhile, Granma won in a series of seven games against the Las Tunas in Cuba.
According to the official calendar, the Cuban team will play against Mexico, and on the next day they will rest, while the Dominican Republic and Puerto Ricans, and Venezuelan and Mexico will play against each other.
In the semifinals, the holders of the first and fourth places and the second and the third places will play against each other to define which team will discuss the title.
Cuba has won eight titles in the Caribbean Series, seven of which were between 1949 and 1960, while in 2017 the Criollos de Caguas, from Puerto Rico, were the champions.
