Chinese Vehicles for Tourism in Cuba
Monday, January 22, 2018

Havana.- Vehicles made by the Chinese company GAC Motor will be used for tourist operations in Cuba, after they are incorporated to car-rental services nationwide.

In that regard, the models GA8 and GS4 were officially presented as part of the fleet of the specialized company TRANSTUR.

The first transaction will consist of 90 vehicles, including 60 GA8 cars (luxury sedans with 320T second-generation engines and Aisen 6AT transmissions). The others will be GS4 vehicles.

At present, TRANSTUR has the commercial brands Cubacar (economic mechanical vehicles), Havanautos (medium-high standard vehicles) and Rex (high standard).

Five years ago, the company started importing Chinese-made vehicles and at present, 60 percent of its fleet comes from that country, with such makes as Geely, MG, BYD, BAIC and MAXUS, among others.
