Cuban Athletes to Compete in Europe

Havana.- Several prominent Cuban athletes will participate in European tournaments in the next few weeks, as part of their training for the Indoors World Championships.

The Cuban delegation includes heptathlete Yorgelis Rodríguez, who will compete in individual high jump contests for the first time.

Rodríguez will compete in the Czech city of Trinec, as well as Banska Bistryka in Slovakia; Madrid and Barcelona (Spain) and Torun (Poland).

Other athletes in the tour will be Cristian Nápoles and Andy Díaz (triple jump), Yoandys Lescay (400 meters), and Juan Miguel Echevarría and Maikel Massó (long jump)

Meanwhile, the pole vaulter Yarisley Silva will start training in late January in Pamplona, Spain, and will take part in the Grand Prix of Glasgow on February 25.
