Group IAG Increased Operations in 2017
Monday, January 15, 2018

London.- The International Airlines Group (IAG), which involves five commercial airlines, reported an increase of 4.1 percent in operations in 2017.

According to statistics from the sector, the companies Iberia, British Airways, Vueling, Aer Lingus and Level carried 104.8 million passengers altogether last year.

The rise in passengers' traffic resulted from a 7.2-percent growth in the companies' respective domestic markets (Spain, United Kingdom, Italy and Ireland).

The largest increase was reported by the Irish low-cost airline Aer Lingus, with an 11.6-percent growth, followed by Iberia (7.6 percent), Vueling (3.8 percent) and British Airways (1.5 percent).

As an example, in December 2017 alone, IAG reported 7.67 million passengers, accounting for an increase of 8.6 percent on the same month in 2016.
