Switzerland and Cuba Strengthen Medical Cooperation |

Havana.- Medical cooperation between Cuba and Switzerland has been boosted in eastern Camagüey province, where several orthopedic surgeries were performed.
In that regard, Swiss Doctor Eduard Buess-Watson headed the fourth of five surgeries performed by a team that also included Cuban surgeons.
As a result, Cuban orthopedists received training on Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma, as part of a project led by Buess-Watson for nearly a decade.
Arthroscopy, one of the most expensive surgical techniques in the world, is a minimal-access procedure that facilitates the direct visualization of the joints and allows diagnosing the problem even before surgery.
The novelty of this surgical procedure is the visualization by the surgeons of the joint in real time, so they can reach the damaged tissues and suture with high precision.
