Improved Health Care in Cuba
Monday, January 8, 2018

Havana.- The eastern Cuban province of Las Tunas has improved its primary healthcare system, thus benefiting the local people.

As part of that strategy, 69 of 539 family doctor's offices were repaired in 2017.

The objective is to gradually repair at least 70 percent of those facilities to guarantee good primary care.

In addition, authorities are trying to bring emergency services closer to communities and to reduce the number of patients who receive treatment at emergency units in hospitals and polyclinics.

The Ministry of Public Health supplied stethoscopes and equipment to measure blood pressure, thus contributing to improving the work of doctors.
