Intensive Care of Excellence in Las Tunas
Monday, January 8, 2018

Havana.- Intensive care services at the Martires de Las Tunas Children's Hospital, in eastern Cuba, guarantee high-quality care to patients.

That hospital treats children aged 29 days to one day before they are 19 years old.

In 2017, the protocols to follow depending on the diseases were updated and ten nurses graduated as bachelors in Intensive Care.

The general survival rate is 98.6 percent and 97.7 percent among ventilated patients, two indicators that excel nationwide.

Nursing children until 12 months of age are prioritized by the Mother-Child Program and are followed up because they are more vulnerable to acquire infections.
