Havana.- Cuba's tourism industry is expected to receive five million foreign holidaymakers in 2018.
If that objective is achieved, it would account for a 6.4-percent growth in contrast to this year's plan.
According to preliminary statistics, in late November, Cuba had been visited by 4,257,754 foreign tourists, 19.7 percent more than in the same period in 2016.
Canada remains as Cuba's major tourist-sending market, while the number of travelers from the United States under the umbrella of 12 travel categories authorized by the White House continued to increase.
The traditional markets that reported the largest increases were France, Italy, Russia, Spain, Argentina and Brazil, which have already exceeded their historic figures.
