Havana.- The Latin American Medical School (ELAM), in Cuba, is implementing a project called Health University.
The initiative aims to take care of students' and professors' health, provide medical education and create a healthy movement in all aspects.
ELAM officials pointed out that the project consists of research and action plans on mental health and addictions, smoking and sexuality, as well as sexually-transmitted disease and HIV/AIDS, physical activity against a sedentary lifestyle, food culture and the environment.
Among the actions is teaching youths, professors and workers to quit smoking and have a healthy lifestyle.
