Havana.- Cuban judokas won two medals at the Master Tournament held in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
In the women's contest, Idalys Ortiz won the silver medal in the +78-kg division after losing to Minjeong Kim, from South Korea.
She reached the finals after winning three combats by ippon, but lost the gold-medal fight by penalty.
In the men's competition, Alex García won the bronze medal in the +100-kg division and only lost one combat to Guram Tushishvili, from Georgia.
Cuba finished in the ninth place among 46 countries led by Japan (4-2-1), Georgia (3-1-1), Russia (2-2-1), Mongolia (2-0-2), the Netherlands (1-1-4), Brazil (1-1-3), South Korea (1-1-2) and France (0-2-3).
