Cuban Cyclist Joins Latin American Elite |

Havana.- The Cuban athlete Arlenis Sierra was the best cyclist in Latin America in 2017, according to the world ranking of route cycling.
Sierra, who competed with the Astana club, also ranks 20th in the world, with 482 points.
She participated in first-level international competitions, where she finished tenth in the general qualifications in the Giro de Italia, second place in the Valencian Cycling Week and first place in the Tour of Costa Rica.
This year's world ranking is topped by the Dutch cyclist Annemiek Van Vleuten, world champion in the time-trial race, who has a score of 1,475 points.
The performances by Sierra, Iraida García, Marlies Mejías, Claudia Baró and Mailín Sánchez allowed Cuba to be in the 17th place by countries in the world ranking.
