Cuba Announces Best Athletes in 2017 |

Havana.- Yarisley Silva (pole vault) and Julio César La Cruz (boxing) were chosen Cuba's best athletes in 2017.
As a result of the voting, Domadores de Cuba (boxing) was the best team of the year, while volleyball and boxing were the best collective and individual sports, respectively.
The best athletes in collective sports were Lidiannys Echevarría (beach volleyball) and Alfredo Despaigne (baseball).
The jury unanimously granted a special acknowledgement to the wrestler Mijaín López, who is already training for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
Among the top ten athletes of the year were Erislandy Savón (boxing),
Arlenis Sierra (cycling), Manrique Larduet (artistic gymnastics), Angel Fournier (rowing) and Marlies Mejías (cycling).
