Havana.- The Swiss multinational company Nestlé, a world major food producer, is strengthening its presence in the Cuban market, where it established the joint venture Nescor S.A.
The company is the third firm of its kind between Nestlé and Cuba's Corporación Alimentaria S.A. (Coralsa).
The joint venture will process and commercialize several well-known brands of coffee, cookies, seasoning and powder food.
That way, Nescor S.A. will make a wide range of products of the Maggi brand, which is highly demanded in the domestic market, thus contributing to reducing imports.
Coralsa is also weighing the possibility of making deals with Italian, Spanish and Slovakian firms to produce fresh pastas, jam, bottled water, soft drinks and beer.
