Havana.- The Cuban delegation that participated in the Open Artistic Gymnastics Tournament in Mexico won five medals, including three titles.
At the men's contest, Manrique Larduet won the gold medals in the horizontal bar and rings, in addition to the silver medals in the parallel bars and the total score.
Larduet scored 58.467 points, and was followed by Turkey's Ahmet Onder (55.794) in the third place. The maximum scorer in the all-around contest was Nikita Nagorny (59.190), from Russia.
At the women's contest, Yesenia Ferrera gave a very solid performance and led the all-around phase with 40.400 points, followed by Romania's Catalina Ponor (40.300), Olympic and world medalist, and Russia's Angelina Melnikova (40.050), runner-up by teams in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016.
