Acosta Danza Is Highly Acclaimed during European Tour
Monday, November 13, 2017

Havana.- Acosta Danza successfully concluded a tour of Europe, where the Cuban company performed in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria and Turkey.

The repertoire consisted of "Crossing the Niagara" by the Cuban choreographer Marianela Boán; "Belles Lettres" by Justin Peck, a resident choreographer in the New York City Ballet, in the United States, and "Twelve" by Jorge Crecis, from Spain.

It also included "Imponderable" by Goyo Montero, which was premiered in Cuba with music by Owen Belton based on the poetic and musical work by Cuban singer songwriter Silvio Rodríguez.

Acosta Danza also premiered "Mermaid" by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, one of the most renowned Belgian choreographers, with Carlos Acosta himself and Marta Ortega, a ballerina from the company, in the main roles.

Experts noted that both the audience and critics highly acclaimed the company's performances.
