Meliá Strengthens Operations in Asia

Madrid.- Meliá Hotels International is working to strengthen its operations in the Asia-Pacific region, where it plans to run 45 hotels by the end of 2017.

Group executives made a tour that included China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand, where they signed agreements to incorporate new hotels into Meliá's portfolio.

Sixteen of 44 hotels (operational and under construction) in seven countries where Meliá Hotels International is present are in Indonesia.

In addition, ten hotels are in China, seven in Vietnam, five in Malaysia, four in Thailand and one each in Mongolia and Myanmar.

In China, the group incorporated the Meliá Xueye Lake Hotel in Shandong province, and in Vietnam, it will manage the Meliá Ba Vi Mountain Retreat Hotel, east of Hanoi.
