Madrid.- Tourist destinations in Spain received 66.1 million international holidaymakers in the first nine months of 2017, accounting for an interannual increase of 10.1 percent.
According to the National Statistics Institute, tourist arrivals in September rose 11.4 percent.
In addition, from January to September, the United Kingdom was Spain's major tourist-sending market with 15.4 vacationers, accounting for an increase of 7.8 percent.
Other major tourist-sending markets were Germany (9.6 million tourists) and France (9.3 million).
If that growing trend remains, Spain might welcome some 80 million international tourists this year, after being visited by 75.3 million holidaymakers in 2016.
