Havana.- Pediatric ophthalmology is gaining ground in Cuba's healthcare system due to the holding of events that facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
In that regard, Cuba's westernmost province, Pinar del Rio, hosted an event on ophthalmology that evaluated topics like immunologic treatment in allergic conjunctivitis in children.
Other topics debated at the meeting were homeopathy and ozone therapy to treat visual problems in children and ophthalmological symptoms in Zica patients.
The meeting's agenda also consisted of debates on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases like cataracts, orbit cellulitis and glaucoma, among others.
The experts participated in master lectures, presentations of electronic posters, case discussions, as well as in the 8th National Workshop on Pediatric Ophthalmology.
