Cuban Iron and Steel Plant to Be Modernized |

Havana.- The iron and steel company Aceros Inoxidables ACINOX Las Tunas will benefit from a broad modernization program.
The investment is estimated at some 26 million euros and involves the Russian firm YUMZ, with which a contract was signed recently to that effect.
The project consists supplying a complete lamination line, including the furnace and the machinery to produce rod wire.
After the modernization works are completed, production is estimated at up to 177 tons of corrugated rods and rod wire a year.
The Russian company will also participate in the start-up process of the modernized line and will train the Cuban personnel.
