Havana.- The U.S. company Coabana Trading signed a contract with the Cuban firm Cubaexport to purchase charcoal made of sickle bush.
Executives from the two companies penned the agreement, aimed at strengthening bilateral commercial relations.
Cuba will supply nearly 40 tons of charcoal, which will be shipped to the United States this year.
Early this year, as a result of a similar contract, the U.S. company bought charcoal made of sickle bush, which became the first Cuban product exported to the United States in more than 50 years.
Coabana has identified another client that is interested in small purchases of Cuban charcoal, so it would contribute to diversifying the presence of that product in the U.S. market.
