Havana.- Cuba announced the shortlisted team that will represent the Caribbean island in the Pan-American Under-23 Championships in Panama.
Cuban sports officials pointed out that 39 players made the shortlist and they began training on November 1 under the leadership of experienced coaches.
The Cuban team will be coached by the former player Ariel Pestano.
The team is made up of the catchers Ariel Martínez, Yunior Barra, Lionard Kindelán, Richel López and Lázaro Ramón Martín, in addition to seven outfielders and 11 infielders.
Among the 16 pitchers are Yariel Rodríguez, Liván Moinelo, Raidel Martínez, Ulfrido García, Yosver Zulueta, Yousimar Cousín, Carlos Pérez, Denis Castillo, Alejandro Meneses, Armando Dueñas, Carlos Font and Javier Mirabal.
