Managua.- The Spanish airline Iberia will include Managua in its list of destinations with three flights a week next year.

As part of the company's expansion strategy, the route will connect Madrid with Managua, with a stopover in Guatemala City.

Iberia has joined three other airlines that announced new operations in Nicaragua, including Volaris, which will connect San Jose and Managua.

Nicaragua receives flights operated by the companies Avianca, Copa, Spirit, American Airlines, United, Delta, Nature Air, Volaris and Aeroméxico.

In the first eight months of 2017, the movement of passengers totaled 492,537 people, while that indicator reached 674,263 in 2016.
