Foreign Physicians Graduate in Cuba
Monday, October 23, 2017

Havana.- The training of foreign physicians in Cuban medical centers is part of the country's strategy of cooperation with several nations.

One of those institutions is the Victoria de Girón Basic and Preclinical Sciences Institute (ICBP), which was established five decades ago.

At present, the ICBP has an enrolment of more than 4,000 students, including 1,000 foreigners from South Africa, Angola, Chad, Ghana, Senegal, Sweden and Spain.

Moreover, there are students from Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Timor Lester, who are taking postgraduate courses.

As part of the syllabus, students are involved in primary care since the first year of their studies.
