Rosneft Weighs Supplying Oil to Cuba
Monday, October 16, 2017

Havana.- The Russian company Rosneft, among the world's largest oil companies, is weighing the options to supply hydrocarbons to Cuba.

Studies include possible joint projects on oil extraction, in addition to prospects of cooperation in the modernization of the oil refinery in Cienfuegos.

Months ago, Rosneft announced the signing of a contract with Cuba to supply 250,000 tons of crude oil and diesel fuel.

Rosneft became the leading company in extracting and refining oil after acquiring assets from the oil companies Yukos (in 2004) and TNK-BP (in 2012-2013), along with their subsidiary firms.

In 2014, the Russian company's certified hydrocarbon deposits exceeded 33 billion barrels.
