Cuban Rower Finishes Second at World Event

Havana.- The Cuban rower Angel Fournier won a silver medal in the single open contest (M1x) at the World Rowing Championships in Sarasota, the United States.

Fournier finished second in the 2,000-meter contest, clocking 6:43.490 minutes, only preceded by Ondrej Synek, from the Czech Republic, who clocked 6:40.640 minutes.

Croatia's Damir Martin (6:45.500), New Zealand's Robert Manson (6:52.840) and Germany's Tim Ole Naske (6:55.900) finished from the fourth to the sixth places, respectively.

The Cuban rower Raúl Hernández placed 19th in the D final of the light single contest (LMx1), while Adrian Oquendo and Janier Concepción finished 19th in the double contest in the open category.

Jorge Patterson, Jesús Rodríguez, Erick Vinet and Eduardo Rubio finished second and 14th in the C final of the four open category (M4x).
