Ballet Options in Cuba
Monday, October 2, 2017

Havana.- The National Ballet of Cuba, directed by prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso, will stage several choreographies in Havana.

In that regard, the company is putting the finishing touches to Carmen, a choreography by Alberto Alonso.

Other shows are Umbral (Threshold) and A la luz de tus Canciones (Under the Light of Your Songs), created by the company director. The former pays tribute to Maestro George Balanchine and the latter honors the Cuban singer Esther Borja.

On this occasion, the leading roles will be danced by Viengsay Valdés, Anette Delgado, Sadaise Arencibia and Grettel Morejón, among other dancers.

Carmen merges classic technique with the Latin characters, in addition to several symbols, among its main attractions.
