Havana.- Pilar Beach, in the tourist destination known as Jardines del Rey (King's Garden), pays tribute to the U.S. novelist Ernest Hemingway.
Precisely, that is the name of the author's yacht, which he used when he sailed off Cuba's coast.
Pilar Beach is protected by the continent's second largest coral reef, which is rich in fish and corals, so it is a major diving site.
In addition, the beach has the largest dune in the Caribbean region, with an approximate height of 15 meters.
According to surveys by tour operators and travel agents from several countries, Pilar Beach is among the world's top 25 beaches and among the Caribbean's best ten beaches, due to its beauty.
