Monday, September 11, 2017

Havana.- The Cuban player Alfredo Despaigne, who was signed with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in the Japanese Professional Baseball League, has hit 30 homeruns so far in this season.

His latest homerun was a grand slam that allowed his team to score four runs to defeat the Orix Buffaloes.

He also leads the homerun category in the Pacific League, ahead of his teammate Yuki Yanagita, and Brandon Laird (Nippon Ham), who rank second with 29 homeruns.

Despaigne has 87 runs batter in (RBI), so he is the third best player in that category of the circuit, behind Yanagita (93) and Hideto Asamura (Seibu), who have 89.

That way, the Hawks has consolidated in the first position of the Pacific League with 85 wins and 40 defeats.
