Underground Attractions in Western Cuba
Monday, August 14, 2017

Havana.- Cuba's westernmost province, Pinar del Rio, has in the Santo Tomás cavern, with some 46 unexplored kilometers, one of its greatest attractions.

According to experts, the cavern bears the imprints of aboriginal people who found shelter there, including their cave paintings.

The cave is related to the Viñales National Park, where visitors can walk along 15 trails and enjoy the charms of the natural environment.

Moreover, tourists can visit agri-ecological farms and tobacco crops.

The region also holds the town of Viñales, which has colonial-style mansions and restaurants, including buildings from the early 19th century.
