Monday, July 24, 2017

Havana.- Cuba will participate in the upcoming edition of the World Athletics Championships, scheduled from August 4-13 in London.

According to Cuban experts, the island's delegation will be made up of 24 competitors, including Yarisley Silva (pole vault) and Denia Caballero (discus).

Another delegation member will be the decathlete Leonel Suárez, two-time bronze Olympic medalist and silver medalist in the World Championships in Berlin, Germany, in 2009.

The list also includes Roger Valentín Iribarne and Yordan O'Farril (110-meter hurdles), and Juan Miguel Echevarría and Maikel Massó (long jump).

In the 4x400 relay, Cuba will be represented by Adrián Chacón, Osmaidel Pellicier, Williams Collazo and Leandro Zamora.

It should be said that in the 2015 World Championships, Cuba finished tenth by countries with two titles and a silver medal.
