Cuba Has Network of Museums of Natural History

Havana.- Cuba has a system consisting of Museums of Natural History, as part of efforts to promote the legacy of those institutions.

The project is aimed at evaluating all collections linked to natural sciences in the country.

Experts from the National Museum of Natural History pointed out that this mechanism will allow determining the number of specimens in those centers and the preservation of the heritage.

It will also guarantee greater access by the public to information about the origin of the Cuban archipelago, the evolution of life on the Earth, extinguished species and the climate in the past.

Regarding the institutions that make up the Network, they mentioned the museums Tranquilino Sandalio de Noda in Pinar del Rio, Tomas Romay in Santiago de Cuba, Antonio Nuñez Jimenez in the special municipality Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth) and Joaquin Fernandez de la Vara in Gibara, Holguín.
