Monday, June 19, 2017

Havana.- Seven Cuban judokas will participate in the Grand Prix in Cancun, Mexico, along with competitors from 38 countries.

The women's team is made up of Anailis Dorvigny, in the 57-kg division, and Kaliema Antomarchi (78 kg), while the men's team includes Osniel Solís (66 kg), Iván Silva (90 kg), José Armenteros (100 kg), Alex García (+100 kg) and Andy Granda.

This kind of tournament grants 700 points to the international ranking for the winners in each of 14 divisions.

The Grand Prix in Cancun will be the first event after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the inclusion of a tournament by mixed teams in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Therefore, traditional competitions of these kinds of world events will have the same format starting in the edition scheduled for August in Budapest.
