Spanish Cinema in Havana
Monday, June 19, 2017

Havana.- The Cuban capital is hosting this month the Spanish Cinema Exhibition Havana-2017, which has a broad program that includes films like "1898: Los Últimos de Filipinas".

The motion picture, made by Salvador Calvo, is the story of a Spanish detachment that was besieged for 337 days in the Philippine town of Baler in the 19th century.

The exhibition's program consists of dramas, comedies and children's adventure films, a variety that characterizes the Spanish cinema today.

In the organization of the event, the Spanish Embassy in Cuba was supported by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industries (ICAIC) and the Cinematheque of Cuba.

Other films to be exhibited during the event are "El Hombre de las Mil Caras", "Un Monstruo Viene a Verme", "La Reina de España" and "Tarde para la Ira", among other motion pictures.
