Experts to Analyze Cuba's Sugar Industry
Monday, May 29, 2017

Havana.- Cuban and foreign experts will analyze the evolution of the sugar industry and how to make better use of its byproducts.

Havana will host the 14th International Congress on Sugar and Its Byproducts, where representatives of sugar-producing countries will present their achievements and experiences.

The event will be sponsored by the Cuban Institute for Research on Sugarcane Byproducts, attached to the entrepreneurial group AZCUBA, the Association of Sugarcane Technicians (ATAC) and the Latin American Weeds Association (ALAM).

Companies from about 30 countries have confirmed participation in the Commercial Fair that will be held parallel to the Congress to present, promote and commercialize their products, services and technologies.

The forum will discuss issues related to the breakthroughs in sugarcane technology, industrial efficiency, how to generate energy from biomass, alcohols and beverages, among others.
