Cuban Health System Provides Care to Hemophilic Patients
Monday, May 22, 2017

Havana.- Cuba's health system has taken action to provide integral care to hemophilic patients in order to improve their quality of life.

Experts in hematology noted that Cuba allocates large resources to treat patients suffering from that genetic disease linked to the X chromosome.

At present, 461 hemophilic patients, including 100 children, are under control.

Hemophilia is a disease that causes difficulties for the blood to coagulate.

Recurrent bleedings result in alteration and deformities of the affected joints and can lead to disability to walk, move and enjoy a full life.
