Dominican Tourism Reports Positive Results |

Santo Domingo.- Tourist arrivals in the Dominican Republic grew 168 percent in April, totaling 557,519 foreign vacationers.
During the first four months of this year, the country received 2,223,126 non-resident visitors by plane, accounting for an increase of 133,900 travelers compared to the same period in 2016.
In addition, the tourist-sending markets that reported the best results during the said period were Russia, the United States, Canada, Spain, Colombia, Panama and Argentina.
The average hotel occupancy rate in April was 83.5 percent, accounting for a 5.6-percent rise in contrast to the same month last year.
That way, growth from January to April (6.4 percent) is higher than predictions by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
