Monday, May 15, 2017

Havana.- Cuban sports authorities published a shortlist of 37 Cuban baseball players who will train before making the team that will compete in the Canadian-American Independent League (Can-Am).

The players will start training on May 16 at Havana's Estadio Latinoamericano under the technical direction of Roger Machado.

The Cuban team debuted in last year's edition of the Can-Am League with 11 wins and 9 defeats.

The Cuban team will play 21 games in 22 days, as part of a tournament that will start in early June with eight teams in the first phase.

The shortlist includes Yosvani Alarcón, Jefferson Delgado, Víctor Víctor Mesa and Yoelkis Céspedes, all of whom participated in the 4th World Classic of Baseball.
