Environmental Protection in Main Cuban Beach Resort
Monday, April 17, 2017

Havana.- Varadero beach, the main destination for sun and beach on the island, promotes environmental actions for the protection of its spaces.

In that direction, specialists recalled that in the period from 1987 to 2012 13 sand dumps were carried out at the site, with a total volume of four million cubic meters.

The last of the procedures took place on the beach of the Iberostar Varadero Hotel and included the placement of 60,000 cubic meters of the mentioned material.

In addition to this, new work was carried out to avoid the losses of the sand already poured, among them the restoration of the native vegetation and the construction of infrastructures.

In addition, a dune was formed that allowed the obtaining of a beach front of about 45 meters, which is also reflected in the acceptance of the clients.
