Cuban Swim Meets International Competition
Monday, April 17, 2017

Havana.- The Cuban swim played an outstanding performance in the Marcelo Salado International Cup, where its main figures showed acceptable records for the current preparation phase.

In the men's, Hanser Garcia scored twice in less than 50.4 seconds in the 100 meters, with only seven months of training.

Those data are less than the 50.6 seconds claimed by the international federation of the discipline to qualify for the World Championship in Hungary next July.

The list of Cuban highpoints included Elisbet Gámez, Mayté González, Víctor Fernández, Andrea Becali, Ramsés Infante, Yaselis Fernández and Einier Leyva.

For foreigners, Rebeca Tapia, Alejandro Pequeño, Carola Mireles, Luis Alberto Olguín and Ivanna Antúnez (Mexico), as well as Rondón Williams, Sienna Culmer and Cairo Bastian (Jamaica).
