Cuba Will Show Experiences in Research on Parasites |

Havana.- The Cuban capital will host the sixth edition of the International Conference on Giardia and Cryptosporidium at the end of April, with the aim of exposing the experiences of these parasitoses.
The forum, organized by the Cuban Society of Microbiology and Parasitology, will allow national and foreign experts to discuss water and food transmission, animal infection, diagnosis and treatment.
The agenda also contemplates host-parasite interaction and pathogenesis, molecular epidemiology, clinical and public health aspects, cell biology, genomics and population genetics.
The program of the meeting, based at the Palace of Conventions, includes lectures given by international experts, as well as exhibitions and oral presentations.
Cryptosporidium and Giardia lamblia are recognized worldwide as opportunistic agents emerging and responsible for outbreaks caused by the ingestion of contaminated drinking water.
