Dominican Culture in the Cuban Capital
Monday, February 27, 2017

Havana.- The Cuban capital hosted an extensive program of activities linked to the culture of the Dominican Republic, within the framework of a day dedicated to the theme.

In this context the Numismatic Museum of Havana served as the setting for the exhibition of a collection of coins donated to the island by that Caribbean country.

Joaquin Geronimo Berroa, the Dominican Republic's ambassador to Cuba, was presented with the offer of films, theater, literature and musicians.

It also included a night dedicated to merengue, declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Meanwhile, the III Dominican Film Show was held and the singer-songwriter Victor Victor offered the conference-concert entitled La bachata: popular Dominican romantic music.
