Cuban Cinema Posters at UNESCO
Monday, January 23, 2017

Havana.- The UNESCO headquarters, in the French capital, hosts a sample of film posters made in Cuba as part of the development of the seventh art.

This exhibit includes altogether four dozens of works made in the 60's of the last century for feature films on the island and in other countries.

Among the posters featured are the short film Now - by renowned Cuban director Santiago Alvarez -, the French film Stolen Kisses and the Cuban film Lucía, among others.

It is worth mentioning that the posters are part of a collection belonging to the family of the young Frenchman Darius Kaufmann, who inherited the materials of his grandfather.

Kaufmann himself indicated that the works reflect the solid cultural opening that had existed in Cuba since 1959, and particularly in the case of cinema.
