Havana.- The Cuban health system promotes studies of various items aimed at the population, with a view to improving the quality of life.
In this direction, the Center for Research and Development of Medicines (CIDEM), belonging to the business group BioCubaFarma, has 48 projects in research of products for human use.
The research portfolio includes so-called super-generics, which constitute an additional benefit to the conventional medicine, as well as natural products.
CIDEM developed Neolimpilen, which is used for the cleaning of contact lenses, which is used as a moisturizer and antiseptic and has lubricating and stabilizing activity.
In addition, chlorine effervescent tablets were developed for the disinfection of water, a technology first used in Cuba, with very high effectiveness for the process of turning the liquid potable.
