Cuban Marine Attractions in National Geographic
Monday, December 5, 2016

Havana.- The specialized National Geographic magazine collects in its November edition the Cuban marine attractions that are located in the Jardines de la Reina National Park.

The magazine collects images of the underwater flora and fauna of this space, which houses an archipelago of 2,170 square kilometers and with an extraordinary coral reef.

Photographers were backed by Avalon Cuban Diving Centers, the only dive operator in Jardines de la Reina, to provide readers with photographs of the place.

According to experts, Cuba actively protects the reserve, where tides and currents help retain nutrients and larvae, as well as preserve coral reefs.

It is worth mentioning that in the middle of 2015, Discovery Channel premiered the documentary The Sharks of Cuba, filmed in Jardines de la Reina, during the collaboration between researchers of both nations to place the first satellite transmitter to a shark from waters of the island.
