New Investments in Durero Caribe Company

Havana.- Durero Caribe, a subsidiary of Spain's Durero Packaging, will benefit from an investment of around 2.7 million euros to improve productive capacities.

The plant is located in an area of 5,700 square meters, with a workforce of 115 workers and a productive volume of 2,500 tons of cardboard per year.

The company produces the packaging used by the tobacco industry of the island, including those of recognized brands such as Montecristo, Romeo and Julieta or Trinidad.

The raw material is acquired in Brazil and in European countries, for further processing on the island, in addition to exporting its productions to the rest of the world.

The Autajon Group of France acquired the 49 percent of Durero Caribe, that closed the exercise of 2015 with a turnover of 11.7 million dollars.
